Brighton Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education (ODE) began more than 25 years ago as an extension of the 6th grade life science curriculum.  For many 6th graders, ODE is the highlight of their entire middle school careers. The program is held at the Rotary Sunshine Camp, located in Rush, N.Y.  For two days and one night, students participate in hands-on activities including ropes courses, orienteering, archery, art, outdoor cooking, disability awareness, and fishing.  The program is a great way for students to build new friendships and make connections with teachers, especially as they transition into a new school.
