West Irondequoit Central School District

Music in Our Schools

The West Irondequoit Central School District's music program spans kindergarten through grade twelve.  It encompasses General Music for students in grades K-8; Instrumental Music, String Music, and Vocal Music for students in grades 4-12; and Advanced Placement Music for high school students.

There are thirty-one concerts scheduled for the 2013-14 school year. Our “mania” concerts bring together students from middle, junior high and high school; each concert culminating in a performance where all age groups join together to play one selection. How inspiring for our youngest musicians (and their parents) to listen to our high school students!

This is the thirteenth year that we have been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education in America by the North American Merchants Association.
