Rush-Henrietta Central School District

Rush-Henrietta’s Nationally Recognized Music Program

If enrichment opportunities are important, the Rush-Henrietta Central School District is a great choice. Whether examining our award-winning athletics, drama, or music programs, there is something for every student. For example, the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation repeatedly has named Rush-Henrietta as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education.” The foundation takes into account many factors regarding a district’s music program, from the availability of lessons to community support. That support is never more evident than at our annual district music festival, which each year features all band, orchestra, and chorus students performing together on a rotating schedule. In 2014, the District Orchestra Festival brought 750 students in grades 4-12 together in one venue. At times, the concert showcases a single grade, maybe two, but the stunning finale involves every student playing together in grand fashion. These special events truly are a testament to the tremendous opportunities that our community, by way of its continued support, provides to our students.  Of course, academic enrichment is also available at every turn. Our Senior High School, for example, offers a comprehensive course listing, including many Advanced Placement classes and other college credit-bearing courses.
