Middle School provides clean water for Ugandan school

Jess Alinaitwe, Ugandan Water Project director of community partnership, educated Merton Williams Middle School students on the plight that Ugandans face every day for clean water. The assembly launched Merton Williams Middle School’s service-learning project, “One Drop at a Time,” which raised over $5,000, far surpassing the goal of $3,600 for a rainwater collection system that will provide clean water for 30 years.

The rainwater collection system was completed in spring 2022 and is transforming the lives of people in Uganda. Because of Merton Williams’ support, 224 students and 39 teachers at Bbowa Community Polytechnic school now have access to clean, safe drinking water right at their school.
